Can I delete the system reserved partition from 100MB

Questions:

1. Why did the Windows 7 installer put the System Reserved partition on one drive, and the C: (OS files) on the other?   It seems to happen more often than not on machines with 2 drives.  It's damn infuriating because I can't remove the 2nd drive.
2. Can you relocate the System Reserved partition to the other drive (using software mirroring?)

For the answer as to why the Windows 7 installer placed the 100MB boot partition on one drive, DonnieR says in his post above:  "What is not explicitly mentioned is that in multiple HD systems, the 100MB will be written to Drive 0, no matter what drive is specified by the BIOS as the Boot Drive."

In my experience, the Windows 7 installer only creates the 100MB boot partition on an empty drive. So did you install 7 on a computer with two empty hard drives? If so, then the Installer just did what you told it to do.

Yes you can move the 100MB boot partition. You might take notice that in some 15 posts in this thread, jcimarron did just that. I am not sure what you mean by "software mirroring", but the easiest way I know of is to use a Partition Utility like the free Partition Wizard, create the empty space where you want the 100MB boot partition to be, use "Copy Partition" to create the 100MB partition in the empty space, mark the new partition "Active" and mark the old partition "Hidden", then if necessary, use the Install DVD or the "Repair" CD to do a "Startup Repair" to complete the move. Afterwards, you can go back and delete, resize or whatever needed to clean up the hard drive space.

hi, im not too good at figuring out whats wrong with my computer when i feel something is wrong, im hoping you can guide me in the right direction to help me please? ok, well i noticed that im running out of space on my desk top computer, im running a( windows vista home premium amd athlon  64 x2 duel core processor 4000 +  2.00 GB ram,nvidia g force 615 ose nforce 430)so ive been going into my folders and deleting stuff out of therethinking maybe i can make some more space for myself , since i already went into my contol center and deleted stuff i wasnt really using and doing the disk thingy removel thing, sorry lol , i think i might have done something im not supposed to do, i hope not, but this is why im asking you, what i noticed is, in the folder that i deleted something from, there are a couple of things that are now in blue ink, which it use to be black, im wondering if i deleted something i wasnt supposed to, my computer is running fine, im just worried that i might have did something that i wont know until its too late, and of course i dont want that!! im gonna give you the names of the things that are in blue, but i dont think i deleted this, i think i deleted something from these things, you know what i mean?there are 2 that i know im not supposed to delete, and these are the ones in blue, thats why it worries me!!

There are some Windows Utilities that might be responsible for using up your hard drive space. Restore Points, for example, can add up over time taking a lot of space. You can limit how much space you allow for these activities. I would kindly recommend you go to the forum vistax64.com to get help on doing this from some very friendly, helpful Vista users as you need Vista specific advice for your system. How do you know your answer is the correct one?

Obviously it's not about the space. It's about keeping your part table clean. Windows has always had a habit of making a mess out of everything it touches, placing whatever it wants wherever it wants.

So, basically, you don't have ANY idea what the partition is for yourself.

It's not up to you to decide. The question was "How" not "Should I" or "Why". If you cannot answer the question professionally then do not answer at all.
