Can I delete the system reserved partition from 100MB

Is there a possibility to install windows 7 (clean install) without making a extra (hidden) partition "system reserved" from 100mb?

or how can I delete this partition after install ?

Why is it for?

I have the meaning that this slows down my hard drive a little ?

Hi Johan G,

Thanks for posting to Getting Ready for Windows 7 .

The 100MB partition is a system partition and contains boot files. Disk Manager will not allow you to remove this partition because removing this partition could cause the system to not boot.

    Can you help me with this? I want the drive that have 931GB to have letter D insted of F and the 100MB should be hiden so I want to hide it but first the letters, when I want to reletter the 100MB partition it tells me that it's risky because of some programs could not work properly on this partition with other letter. What can I do? Already thank you.

    Not much point adding to a thread that is years old

    Depends exactly what D: is, it shouldn't be the default system reserved partition of about 100mb which doesn't have a drive letter.

    If the size of D is in the order 7+gb its likely to be a PC makers recovery partition, or Tools partition

    And as for another HDD depends whether a physical second drive or simply a partition of the single drive

    Can you help me with this, I have a C for OS and D for the reserved and also another HDD for my pictures and other stuff. Why do my hidden partition ''D'' is shown in the my computer and how cen I hide it? And I want the HDD with pictures to have letter ''D'', can you help me please? Already thank you.
