Can I delete the system reserved partition from 100MB

Is there a possibility to install windows 7 (clean install) without making a extra (hidden) partition "system reserved" from 100mb?

or how can I delete this partition after install ?

Why is it for?

I have the meaning that this slows down my hard drive a little ?

Hi Johan G,

Thanks for posting to Getting Ready for Windows 7 .

The 100MB partition is a system partition and contains boot files. Disk Manager will not allow you to remove this partition because removing this partition could cause the system to not boot.

    OK, what is the workaround then?

    MS products consume 3 out of 4 allowable partitions for God's sake!!!

    15GB hidden install media, 100MB proprietary utilities, and C: for the actual Windoze install!

    Plus a 4th to keep my data safe from a bricked windoze... and we're already at max - not allowed to add another, for a secondary OS or something.

    I was able to delete the Windows 7 System File partition, which is a non-accessible storage of system files used to verify and replace Windows 7 files.  Of course I had to use a bootable 3rd-party program.

    ONLY to prepare for reinstalling Windows, the files are needed for Windows 7.

    I now have a NEW W-7 partition for a new W-7 install.

    But are you sure that is the issue?  In any event, the Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrade has so many issues it is much easier to just Clean Install Windows 10 after backing up documents, bookmarks, program installers etc.  

    You will not like that W-10 has a 500MB System Partition and a 450MB Recovery Partition though.

    Microsoft update to Windows 10 from Windows 7 refuses to install because of the reserved partition .

    Can I delete reserved partition safely ?
