When I try to use Snipping Tool I get a message stating that "The Snipping Tool is not working on your computer right now. Restart your computer and try again. If the problem persists, contact your system administer."__What can I do to fix this?__Thanks

I found this answer on a different site and after trying everything it was the only thing that worked for me. Also the easiest and quickest solution:

After opening a call with Microsoft on this and working for many hours, we finally have a solution, it's a registry setting that somehow is deleted after uninstalling Office.  Import this key back into the registry, log off and back on and snipping tool will be working again!

Thank's a lot for your reg, it work on windows 2008 server x64 TSE with Office 2007.

I have copy in reg file and apply. log off and log on and Snipping tool works.

Btw, the issue only occurs on my Vista machine. On the Win7 machine everything is fine with the Snipping Tool. Also taking screenshots may also not be possible using the print key when I encounter the Snipping Tool issue. So I guess it has more to do with the "Clipboard" rather than the Snipping Tool. Since lot of users using the Snipping Tool for taking screenshot it looks like that Snipping Tool stops working but it seems that the underlying stuff (clipboard, service(s) are failing).

But there is no helpful log when looking into the Event Viewer.

Yes, I only meant the url as a reference for how to get to the msconfig window for someone who wasn't already familiar with it. For me the issue was occurring on win 7 Pro. 

Can you use ctrl+c & ctrl+v to copy and paste, or is that not working as well?

It sounds like you might need to clear the clipboard shortcut:

 Are you sure that the service is running?

In the run tab enter msconfig, then go to the services tab and make sure that the box for

tablet pc input service is checked and is running- here's an example of what it should look like when you open it up:

Also, you can double check your services to make sure it's running in there as well. I was having the same issue and discovered mine was shut off in the msconfig.
