Why does Microsoft have to decide how I want my personal stuff organized?I want them organized the way I want!We wouldnt pay 300 for someone to take decision for us.I wonder if you are going to change the Pc acronym for Personal Computer to IBTMN-C aka I belong to Microsoft now computer.I want my folders arranged the way I like.I want to change the row the way i feel like to everyday.Just fix it.What made you remove this??Which advisor told you it is not needed?Who doesnt use this feature??Windows is based on manual arrange.Nice Idea WELL DONE

As this is by design of the Windows 7 Operating system, we cannot disable the Auto arrange.
The change in Windows 7 is by design however, if this is something you would like this feature reinstated, please submit your suggestion to:

I am so upset that I can't rearange my pictures by clicking on a picture and dragging and dropping it where I want. I feel the same way you feel. How could they dismantle such a vital feature. I am thinking of purchasing a photo software program that will work with dragging and dropping photos to rearange them.

You say "this is by design of the Windows7 operating system", I don't mean to be rude, but what person 'designed' such a horrible mess!!
This Auto Arrange is causing frustration, disruption and complete disgust to so many Windows users!!
You say you "cannot disable the Auto arrange" - WHY? Does Microsoft not have any computer programmers?
You say "if this is something you would like this feature reinstated, please submit your suggestion to ....". Users have been BEGGING for over three years for this to be reinstated - but Microsoft is IGNORING its users and WILL NOT do it!!

I posted that link two posts up from yours. It does work in the root folders, just not the libraries.
I believe that those MS PMs who approved enforcing the auto re-arrange should be simply sent home.
The comments in the thread describe it all :-(
Anyway - pls see the following page - it claimes that disabling of the file auto-arrange is possible.
Pls mind I have NOT tested it yet as I'm reluctant to import any registry file without examining it in details, had no time to do it.:
