I checked that already and Volume indicator is on. It was always on the taskbar since I downloaded Windows 10 but it suddenly disappeared.
This registry trick worked the first time for me but it has never worked again. Windows 10 won't let me enable the icon, if I want to change my volume I have to open the volume controls myself :(
EDIT: The problem eventually went away, and I have NO idea what fixed it.
The volumn button was gray and could not turn it on???
I am unable to on the icon of volume and power in the way you have suggested. on off is not working
