Dont Worry....... Just rightclick on taskbar---->properties----->select Notification Area Tab--------->In system Icon select "volume" ................I hope it will help u........

2010-02-04T19:15:53+00:00 On mine there is no volume control given as a choice, either under present or previous icons. The sound works fine through a Samsung monitor.. I brought a sound lever shortcut just above the icon area. It works, but is not as convenient. This is on XP, not Vista.
None of the listings are in the regestry where they are listed to be in help files

2009-11-25T23:48:18+00:00 I realize your response is almost a year old, but I'm having this same issue. I right clicked on the Taskbar >> Properties >> Customize under Notification Area. The Creative Volume Control was under Past Items, but it was set to Always show. I even tried selecting 'Hide when inactive' and rebooting, reselecting 'Always show', rebooting, and it still doesn't show. I'm set to receive Windows Updates automatically, and the problem started with the update prior to the most recent one.
It's VERY annoying to not have it. The only way I can semi-conveniently control my volume now is the volume control knob on the monitor. How do I get my icon back?

2008-12-22T13:23:01+00:00 Same here. After doing updates and after rebooting my volume icon, network icon and power level icon are gone from the task bar. When I go get them back they are greyed out. Then after several reboots I can finally get them back. Until the next Windows update.
What gives??
This is on a laptop with Vista Home Premium and all up to date updates.
