Hi

When i tried to install directx i got this message " A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file is valid. "

A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file is valid.____The module "initpki.dll , gpkcsp.dll , sccbase.dll , slbcsp.dll" failed to load

So i tried to check the .dll files that the Cryptographic depends on but this error message keep showing up " The module " xx.dll " failed to load

Make sure the binary is store at the specified path or debug it to check problems with the binary or Dependent . DLL files .

The specified module could not be found "

xx.dll refers to "initpki.dll , gpkcsp.dll , sccbase.dll , slbcsp.dll" because they all had the same message.

could you help me :(

This is what I did and it worked!!!

  1. navigate to \Windows\System32\directx\ or \Windows\SysWow64\directx

if you have Windows 7 x64.

  1. Click on "organise" file menu, then "folder and search options" then

in the "View" tab check "show hidden files and folders" and then "ok"

  1. websetup folder will be visible now. go in there and delete all

contents.

  1. run "dxwebsetup" again. 

Works for me under Windows 7 64bit.

Try the following methods and check if it helped.

Method 1 :

Looks like those files may belong to Cryptographic services in windows

Reregister DLL files that are associated with Cryptographic Services

To register .dll files that are associated with Cryptographic Services, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start , click Run , type cmd in the Open box, and then OK.

Note On a Windows 7/Vista-based computer , click Start , type cmd in the Start Search box , right-click cmd.exe , and then click Run as administrator.

  1. At the command prompt, type the following commands, and press

ENTER after each command:

regsvr32 /u softpub.dll

regsvr32 /u wintrust.dll

regsvr32 /u initpki.dll

regsvr32 /u dssenh.dll

regsvr32 /u rsaenh.dll

regsvr32 /u gpkcsp.dll

regsvr32 /u sccbase.dll

regsvr32 /u slbcsp.dll

regsvr32 /u mssip32.dll

regsvr32 /u cryptdlg.dll

exit

Note Click OK if you are prompted.

Note Microsoft Windows 2000 does not include the Sccbase.dll file. If you are running a version of Windows 2000, omit the Sccbase.dll file.

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. Click Start, click Run, type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK.
  3. At the command prompt, type the following commands, and press ENTER after each command:

regsvr32 softpub.dll

regsvr32 wintrust.dll

regsvr32 initpki.dll

regsvr32 dssenh.dll

regsvr32 rsaenh.dll

regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll

regsvr32 sccbase.dll

regsvr32 slbcsp.dll

regsvr32 mssip32.dll

regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

exit

Note Click OK if you are prompted.

After performing the steps given above try Installing DirectX.

Method 2 :

If you still cannot Install DirectX then there could be some corrupted files.

To determine whether the issue that you are experiencing is caused by one or more system files that are used by Windows Vista, run the System File Checker tool. The System File Checker tool scans system files and replaces incorrect versions of the system files by using the correct versions.

Follow the instructions in the link below to run SFC scan.

    This little bit did the trick.  Blackadder57 (great show by the way!) Had most of it right, but my files were hidden, and were also in the Windows 7 folder C:\windows\syswow64\directx folder.  Initially the files were hidden but going into the Organize

    • View - Show hidden files and folders and setting that to Yes caused them to show up.  Once they are there, highlight them (ctrl-a) and delete them, and re-run the dxwebinstall application.  It will download new files and do the update correctly.

    I did undelete those files and you are right, it solved the windows/internet browsing issue.

    The "A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file is valid" problem with dxwebsetup.exe remains (even after deleting the files in C:\Windows\System32\directx\websetup) though.

    In my particular case that's not crucial any more as Samsung have, yesterday, released a new version of their own software which works with DirectX 9.0; but the original issue this thread is about continues to affect my PC at least.

     I've also been having alot of trouble installing the directx, I followed every step of blackadder1957 and all others suggestions to this subject to finaly find nothing that worked! So after a couple of very frustrating hours I stumbled across the "MAGIC CURE DOWNLOAD" I would like to call. This is Directx Redist, If you download and install the DirectX Redist package, it will install/update directx and solve any issues your having. Wow, so easy but yet so hard for me to find, but not for you, well atleast not anymore. So here is the easiest way out for everyone (I think!).

    I also deleted all the files that were already in the directx under the System32 or under the 64bit version files (mine was the 64).     Listen Friends...

    I Dnt have window 7 or 8...

    so the dix blackbladder didnt work out for me...

    i deleted direct x files...

    But the same error hit me...
