How to change system language of Windows 7 Home Premium from russian to english?

You will need to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate for this capability. Only Windows 7 Ultimate includes Multilingual User Interface (Language Pack) support. You can then install the English Language Pack from under Regional and Language settings in Control Panel.

You can do an Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate which will preserve your personal files and settings:

It is true I was also dissapointed from this....But I guess that is the policy if you are multi lingual it shouldnt be such a big deal I can live with it so far and hopefuly they will change their minds about this one, best, DK.

Unfortunately, until we start blogging every tech site online and file a class action lawsuit against Microsoft... first to get back the 400 dollars that we spent on a completely USELESS Vista OS, then the 319 dollars that they want for us to see our OS in our language, I would not hold my breath for updates. The way that I see it...each of us, who bought Vista...shelved it, and then bought Windows 7, and is force to now upgrade a BRAND NEW OS to Ultimate, is out about 725 dollars to Microsoft, with ZERO return to the consumer. I bought my comp in Mexico, Every single word on the packaging was in English when I bought it....get it home , turn it on ...Spanish OS, and it's going to cost 319 dollars to convert it to english. I'll be honest....it feels like extortion.

I think paying 200 dollars or more to change Premium to Ultimate only to change the MUI language is ridiculous. I only NEED to change my windows language so I can understand what I am doing, no need for Ultimate. Please, I can't leave my computer turn off for ever because I don't understand it (the language). Do something please. Thanks
