You will need to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate for this capability. Only Windows 7 Ultimate includes Multilingual User Interface (Language Pack) support. You can then install the English Language Pack from under Regional and Language settings in Control Panel.

You can do an Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate which will preserve your personal files and settings:

    I'd like to thank Microsoft for screwing their customers by requiring an upgrade to Ultimate to change the language.

    I imagine most of the people made it here because the install discs they were provided or got ahold of (to reinstall a legitimate copy of windows) are in a different language..

    So, Now I have to buy a system restore disc and pay for a disc that should have came with the computer for free, but no longer does (yet again, thanks microsoft, We realize you don't provide os cd's so people cannot try alternative operating systems), and wait a week or pay $200 for a feature that came for free in all versions of windows xp.

    I am not sure exactly what they intend to accomplish, This seems to me only to push people towards piracy.. 

    what are they going to cut next? are we to pay for the next internet explorer upgrade?

    You should really know more about the subject you are talking about. The system restore disks, as you call them, are not provided by the computer manufacturer. This has nothing to do with Microsoft. No wonder you use the name you do.
