How to install Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface

Dummy me... In Device Manager I uninstalled the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface. I need to know how to reinstall this interface. I've seen other postings on the web on how to configure it, but all those assume the interace is still visible in Device Manager.

So where do I find procedure to install this?

I'm on Windows 7 Professional x64.

Hi DocBrown,

Follow the steps mentioned below:

First, let’s temporarily disable antivirus softwareand Firewallon the computer as a test.

Note: Make sure you turn-on the antivirus software and Windows Firewall later.

Now, let’s verify the status of relevant services required.

  1. Click Start , type services.msc in Start search box and hit Enter.
  2. Right-click the Peer Networking Grouping service and select Properties .
  3. Check if the service is started; if not, right-click and select Start .
  4. You may also set the Startup type to Automatic under Properties .
  5. Click OK .

Repeat the above steps for the service PNRP Machine Name Publication Service , **** too.

Next step would be to modify IPv6 registry key to enable IPV6:

  1. Click Start , type regedit in Start Search Bar and hit Enter.

**Note:**If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.

  1. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\TCPIP6\Parameters

  1. Check whether DisabledComponents registry key exists. If yes, let's proceed to the next step.
  2. Double click the DisabledComponents registry key and modify the value to 0 .

If the DisabledComponents entry is unavailable, you must create it. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. In the Edit menu, point to New , and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value .
  2. Type DisabledComponents , and then press ENTER.
  3. Double-click DisabledComponents .

Type 0 to enable all IPv6 components.

  1. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

Have you enabled the option - show hidden devices ?

Device Manager > View > CHECK show hidden devices.

Expand Network adapters

Is Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter listed?

    wow. but I did open the hidden devices and expanded the network adapters and thee teredo thing is just not there anymore.

    I had gone to device mgr to uninstall it and now I can only access the internet by ethernet!

    help pleease.
