How to locate and install my flash drive on my computer?

I plug my flash drive into the usb port provided in the front part of my computer but I'm unable to located to look at my content.

Hi,

I would suggest you to check in the BIOS if it is disabled.

Note: Modifying BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

You can also check the mother board manual to know more about BIOS.

If that doesn’t help, then you need to check the connections in the system tower.

    Check in the Bios?

    Check the mother board manual?

    Can you translate this to something simple that I will understand??

    I clicked on the link. All it did was give me more confusing information.

    If an answer was explained in language that someone is not computer literate could understand, that would be helpful.

    You know what else would be helpful?  It would be helpful if people would not reply in threads that are nearly eight years old, and most likely pertaining to a different Windows version (Vista in this case).   Not being computer literate shouldn't prevent you from being aware of your surroundings.  Start a new thread with your question.

    I tried to start a new thread,  and got the above response. And, as I said, the link only gave me more confusing information.

    I have spent hours trying to figure this out by myself, and with the advise of someone from this site.
