How to locate and install my flash drive on my computer?

I plug my flash drive into the usb port provided in the front part of my computer but I'm unable to located to look at my content.

Hi,

I would suggest you to check in the BIOS if it is disabled.

Note: Modifying BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

You can also check the mother board manual to know more about BIOS.

If that doesn’t help, then you need to check the connections in the system tower.

    Hi,

    1. Are you able to connect other USB devices?
    2. Did you try connecting the flash drive in different USB ports?

    I would suggest you to follow these steps and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

    Try connecting the flash driver to different USB ports and check even UDB ports at the back of the computer.

    Method 2:

    If you can connect other USB devices and not the flash drive, then try running this fixit and check if it helps:

    Bro, same issue even with my computer. When I connect any USB devices in the front side USB ports it will not reognize.

    The same USB devices will recognize when I connect at the back of my tower, what should i do. The fixit you gave dint help a penny and it is very difficult to get up and connect at the back while working on the comp.

    Ok. I am having the same problem since I installed Windows 10. This is not the only problem I am having with thumb drives. I cannot look at any pictures on my thumb drives since installing windows10. I wish that in all of the tutorials for this it would show you how to get by all of the changes it made to my computer.

    I couldn't agree more.   None of the USB ports front and back of the computer recognize the flash drive.  I checked the  Universal Serial Bus controllers and all are functioning properly.   

    I still can't get my printer to print documents saved to a file except PDF which of course I can't edit since I don't have Writer.  I have spent days on community boards for Microsoft and HP to no avail.
