How to locate and install my flash drive on my computer?

I plug my flash drive into the usb port provided in the front part of my computer but I'm unable to located to look at my content.

Hi,

I would suggest you to check in the BIOS if it is disabled.

Note: Modifying BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. You can also check the mother board manual to know more about BIOS.

If that doesn’t help, then you need to check the connections in the system tower.

by the way I have read in the USB support info that USB 3.0 ports are blue. I dont know what type of computer that was though....

You probably got stuck buying a (new) USB 3.0 drive they are NOT comparable with win 10 . go back and get your money back and/or trade it for a USB 2.0 drive, your problems will be over.

Simply not true. You shouldn't assume with such confidence that your own experience applies to 700 million other Windows 10 users. I have several USB 3.0 flash drives that work just fine in Windows 10.

are you sure that you are plugged into a USB 3.0 PORT AND that the drive is a matching USB drive? What I'm saying it depends on the computer whether it supports USB 3.0 drives, possibly the drive was formatted although you should still see the drive in the hard drive utilities.

Interesting that only one of your USB drives does not work ? Are you sure its not a USB 3.0 DRIVE? some USB drives are not identified as to USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 . Do all your clearly identified USB 3.0 drives work?

Do ALL 700 mi;;ion win 10 users have no problems with USB 3.0 drives?

I didn't say anything about any of my flash drives not working. I have four clearly-identified USB 3.0 drives that work just fine, in both 3.0 and 2.0 ports. In a population of 700 million users there are people who have just about every kind of problem imaginable. It's good for you to share your experience, but it's not good to make it sound like you're certain that USB 3.0 flash drives just aren't compatible with Windows 10.

I suspect that your USB 2.0 PORTS are compatable with your USB 3.0 ports as you have both types in your computer if you do have both types of ports your computer probably has both types of adapters or your USB 3.0 Adapters are backwards compatable with USB 2.0 drives. It depends on the computer and the adapters it has, both ports have always been interchangeable. by the way USB 3.0 ports are blue and USB 2.0 ports are black.
