Is there a stop to Internet Backgammon cheaters?

What a farce this line is.

How could you be so naive.

The truth is, once these mental midgets start using cheat programs where they can manipulate THEIR numbers and YOURS, they tend to set traps that cant be avoided.

It doesn't take long for them to realize they are playing a person who refuses to use cheat programs, because they respect the game in it's purity. Knowing this, they play a completely different game.

It is no longer a game of skill and the luck of the roll. It turns into a predator game where the one with all of the odds and the ability to manipulate the entire game enjoys seeing those they cheat on, squirm to get out of a situation they would never been in,.. in any legit game.

Their opponent (you) now has to play a purely defensive game, its constantly ducking their mis-moves, their constantly changing numbers that have already been rolled, or cheating you out of the moves your numbers have given you by rolling their numbers before you complete your move.

In spite of all of these advantages, they still find themselves in a pinch from time to time, because the legit player only gets better and better fighting for his/her game despite all the advantages the pathetic COWARD with the training wheels and crutches has at their disposal.

You see this time and time again, when in the last lap of the game and they find they have not been able to keep up, they start rolling doubles everywhere they go, to play catch up.

While you are working with odd numbers they have to make sure they move their stones with perfect matches for safety sake.

Their stones are always perfectly matched.

If they don't have the probably of matching they will manipulate the die to insure they do. This takes all of the risk out of it for them.

You might think of it as a 25 year old guy hanging out at a primary school to harass and beat up 10 year old girls on their way home.

They have all the advantages against the child by virtue of their **** and age, but hey,....watching the child struggle for their life against the bully is what gets them off.

Challenging another equal in size and strength to them is inconceivable. Though they are of the same dimensions, they don't have the intelligence or motor skills to win in a fight. Because of that, they seek much weaker prey to insure their victory.

Once these PATHETIC COWARDS have access to cheat programs and use them, the weaker their ability to play a straight game becomes, and they NEVER abandon the cheat programs,... Mama's ****.

They are like the shoplifter that brags about all they have, but never paid a dime for any of it. They aren't intelligent enough to earn the money it takes to possess the goods, so they steal them.

I was just reading about a child walking home from school that got beaten so bad he may never recover because someone wanted his Nike shoes.

These are the mind sets we are working with,...these are the COWARD LEMMINGS that ruin a fabulous game for everyone else.

So what do we do? If you love the game, play them anyway as far as you can, you will only get stronger. The results of your effort in battling them will make you smarter. Just realize that you must think completely different when it comes to strategy.

You must become an expert at defense. With all the bells and whistles they have you don't, you will seldom ever win, but that's the point. To level the playing field make sure they don't either.

Some cheaters will purposely leave their stones uncoupled purposely hoping you will hit them, just to get a bunch of them in your home port. This strategy is used to hit all of your stones coming home.

When you see this, avoid hitting any of their stones sitting there by themselves. When they force you to hit them by manipulating your die coming off the rail, it's time to leave the game.

Enjoy the game as long as you can, let them get close to a win, and then split leaving them hanging.

There is nothing a COWARD SOCIOPATH hates more than being deprived of something he didn't earn in the first place. Those worthless Mickey Mouse points they accumulate by stealing games means everything to them.

Their crippled minds cant function with out their mental wheelchair.

So,...play them as far as you can, but never let them win.

I examine three metrics to determine fairness/bias that have nothing to fo with ability. One metric is the ratio of doubles: number of doubles by opponent divided by number of doubles by player. Whether one plays well or badly, if one is consistently getting out rolled in doubles by factors of 3-1, 4-1, 5-1, 6-1, ... then one is being cheated.

I counted 290 doubles. Every time my opponent rolled a double I recorded a1. Every time I rolled a double I recorded a 0. I got tired of counting at 290. I ended up with only 80 doubles while my opponents had the remaining 210 doubles. A binomial distribution calculator says that the probability of having 80 or fewer doubles is

This is conclusive proof of biased dice. It is conclusive proof of cheating. An interesting arithmetic problem is computing the number of centuries it would take with constant play so that this would have even a 1 percent chance of happening once.

Thank you for your frank and honest reply. At least there is now an admission that people are able to dice cheat, which a lot of people already knew or strongly suspected.

I am very incredulous that Microsoft can't stop the cheating that easily. The stall cheat which seems to have been around for a decade would seem very easy to fix. However, I have an open mind but it would take hard, frank and honest details to convince me.

For example a detailed discussion about the vulnerabilities that allow both stall and dice cheating are mandatory to back up your claim. This discussion doesn't have to be a treatise on a how to cheat, only what makes it possible. Once the facts are known readers can decide how easily Microsoft could fix the problem.

I'm sorry but I can't actually play backgammon. However, I understand the technical side of your point.

How can Microsoft stop software 'bruteforcing' into the software and changing the code without turning the game into a virtual antivirus with the next update? The game would have to be programmed to 'remove' the cheat software, and this wouldn't please many users.

Apart from programming a new version of Windows to reject cheat software in an attempted install, I can't see many options.
