So I have enjoyed playing Backgammon in the past, but nowadays is just IMPOSSIBLE. I am sure many others have noticed this. There are players out there that can control the dice at least for them, and some can even move more chips than the allowed by standard rules.
For example, not 10 minutes ago, I rolled 6 and 5, then the guy doubled me on his first roll, and got double three, then I rolled and I got 4 and 1, then he rolled and got 3 and 1, then I rolled and got 3 and 2, then he rolled and got double 5 eating my lonely chip in position 1 and covering position 3 from position 8. Do you call that a lucky roll? I call that an engineered roll, if you know Backgammon.
Yesterday, a guy moved 6 chips using a double 5. That same guy rolled 4 consecutive pairs.
Yesterday, I had 5 out of 6 positions occupied in my side and I ate one of the other player's chips. I did this repeatedly. The guy just lost 1 roll out of 4 chips I ate. He also had 5 of 6 positions occupied. He ate a chip of mine twice. I had to roll some 10 times before I could get out each time.
If you know Backgammon, you know this is NOT right. Losers out there have found a way to cheat, and that ruins the fun for us, the ones with a brain.
Microsoft, please put an end to this. Your Windows license is expensive, and I paid for it, and I expect to be able to enjoy all the features in the OS, and that includes the included Internet gaming. Roll a patch that can end this blatant cheating!

I have my self roled a lot of doubles within a game with out cheating but i concure i think cheating is going on some have a lot of doubles in a time some get a lot of lucky dice when finishing and some move more than the dice say....
I just played someone who got 11 doubles in the last game ridiculus!!!!!
here is just one of many that came up in a google search for MSN backgammon cheats.

Great post. I tend to find cheaters quit if you win the first roll, make a pretty good first move, or are taking super longe times to move.
I tend to wait just once if a person is taking a very long time between rolls. I have no idea assuming they have cheats because the long pauses are almost always followed by "the perfect roll" for the situation. Why else wait so long . . . especially if it wasn't happening before.
It is even more frustrating to lose to a player making the idiotic and poorly chosen moves that can be clearly determined because they are cheating rather than taking risks or are bad players. I know people play sporatically, I do it when solid techniques are too predictable and I need an edge. But when the moves don't make sense, a good player can tell that it is cheating rather than entering chaos into a pattern or just a poor player.
I love the game, it sucks playing against people who are clearly cheating. I used to hate thinking they were cheating because I thought maybe I was just a sore loser. I know know there are just losers who have learned to win.
I wish I knew when you were playing so I can play with you in a legitimate game. You look like you know how to play the game and have experience. I have been playing mostly on the physical boards with real dice for many years. Wish we could play that way. Always hard to find good players like you.
Yes there is no doubt there are many cheaters out there. I believe this is the program they are using.

I get so PO'ed that once I was tempted to down load it my self, but thought what is the use, your not interested in that, what you want is a real player.
I must say they are getting more and more sophisticated in their use of the program. What they seem to be doing now is playing a legit game until they see you are gaining on them. Then all of a sudden there is a sense of urgency and the game changes fast. The doubles come out of nowhere and every other move is sheer perfection.
Some how they are so stupid they don't realize how easy it is to spot.
there is nothing a sociopath wants more than to win cheating or not. The worse thing you can do to them is not let them win, by just ditching the game at that point.
Do they think we are stupid? Ya, we're going to sit there and let them pick the numbers for themselves, and pick and even change the numbers given to you.
That has happened to me many times. a 4-5 can change to a 3-5 in a split second. At first I thought it was my eyes, until it started happening to often, and I started watching close.
Can you imagine how these people live other parts of their life's? A cheater us usually a thief too.
What I can't understand ,..is unless it is something in the cheat program, how I keep getting the same people.
I am so familiar with their personality on the board, the only time I can't guess them is when they start playing a legit game, but soon after I can see who I'm playing just by their style.
Seems even if I haven't played in a few days, but have dropped them for cheating they will open the game, roll one time and just sit there. I guess they feel if you finally leave the game, it is scored as a win for them.
Some how they have a way of identifying you. I could give a rats **** about games won and lost I play for the fun and skill of it.
It's a real shame the game is so prostituted it's not worth playing. Once in a great while you get a legit player, and it seems like heaven, even if they beat you.
