Is there a stop to Internet Backgammon cheaters?

So I have enjoyed playing Backgammon in the past, but nowadays is just IMPOSSIBLE.  I am sure many others have noticed this.  There are players out there that can control the dice at least for them, and some can even move more chips than the allowed by standard rules.

For example, not 10 minutes ago, I rolled 6 and 5, then the guy doubled me on his first roll, and got double three, then I rolled and I got 4 and 1, then he rolled and got 3 and 1, then I rolled and got 3 and 2, then he rolled and got double 5 eating my lonely chip in position 1 and covering position 3 from position 8.  Do you call that a lucky roll?  I call that an engineered roll, if you know Backgammon.

Yesterday, a guy moved 6 chips using a double 5.  That same guy rolled 4 consecutive pairs.

Yesterday, I had 5 out of 6 positions occupied in my side and I ate one of the other player's chips.  I did this repeatedly.  The guy just lost 1 roll out of 4 chips I ate.  He also had 5 of 6 positions occupied.  He ate a chip of mine twice.  I had to roll some 10 times before I could get out each time.

If you know Backgammon, you know this is NOT right.  Losers out there have found a way to cheat, and that ruins the fun for us, the ones with a brain.

Microsoft, please put an end to this.  Your Windows license is expensive, and I paid for it, and I expect to be able to enjoy all the features in the OS, and that includes the included Internet gaming.  Roll a patch that can end this blatant cheating!

After posting here a few days ago I've played several games of BG and almost every game has been a cheater. This isn't an opinion it is a fact. Some of them being so obvious such as in one game on the very first roll my cheating opponent won the roll and went first. He rolled a 5/3 but however he moved 4 times on his own chips and moved one of mine. He moved it into my home space on top of his 2 chips in the number 1 position. We all know that isn't possible. I have had several very obvious things like this happen while playing this BG game. I sure hope that Microsoft will do something about this.

I am considering starting a facebook page about Microsoft backgammon and cheaters. I'll let you all know if I do. Maybe that will get Microsofts attention.

So . . . have been playing awhile and I am not sure if there are cheaters or not . . . there is certainly disagreement about it on this thread. I don't know enough about how the game process actually works on this network to make a definitive answer. I am sure someone knows exactly how it works but it is obvious that some posters here think/say they do, but don't.

Certainly I have played games where I got one great roll after another and other games where the oppenent got every roll they needed. I have played enough backgammon with real games to think that the "streaks" on the Win7 version seem odd. Certainly the computer's rolls when it takes over a game and is behind are full of doubles . . . obviously not random.

I know that the human brain can see unfairness where there isn't any but I have seen streaks that seem improbable at the the least . . . like recently rolling 4-1 as my first roll for 6 straight games.

Still, I see the biggest problems as the quitters. Someone said that people quit because of the cheaters. I don't cheat and people quit on me all the time and almost all the time when they are behind. Yes players get disconnected or have to leave but most quitters are just poor losers. The best solution if possible would be for players to have handles and visible stats including games left . . .then players like myself could have a reasonable expectation of a good game instead of a waste of time . . . even if the computer could play a lick . . .

Microsoft could give a flying banana about this problem.

Just look how many complaints are posted here, and NOTHING is done.

If there is no money in it for them, they could care less. To the cheaters it's a big joke.

All you can do is let them fight you till close to the end of the game then split. Don't give them the win, they are going to cheat you out of it anyway.

These people are cheating because it a joke. It's not Gammon to them it's a whole other game.

It's the game of setting traps and watching the opponent try to get out of them. It's making sure you are never the aggressor no matter how good a player you are, you are always on the defensive.

I still play these idiots and they have all the power to control the die but I still kick their butts, but when I get close to winning they reach for the doubles one after the other like some coward. It's funny as heck to see them move so fast when your close to busting them. Typical COWARDS.

These people could not play a straight game of gammon if their life depended on it. They are not intelligent enough.

They often miscount even when they have control of the die.

They use to be very blatant about cheating right up front but must have gotten tired of people ditching them.

So,.. now they play a straight game up front, sometimes moving slow and trying to make you think they are a real beginner just to keep you in the game.

Sometimes they will change the numbers on your die, they can do that. When that happens I'm out of there.

When it's time to rap the game up with your stones in the home pen, they start using the numbers they can control, both yours and theirs.

Ever notice when your heading home you will get 1-2 time and time again to slow you down. They think your stupid and don't notice.

If your set up to good to close out the game they start reaching for the doubles.

    When that happens I ditch.

I could give a good ka-hoot about a score. I play for the skill of it.

Their win is not a win it's a stolen win. If that is what plows their skirt up so be it. Maybe they think they can take their wins to the bank.

You have to keep in mind these people are COWARDS, and could not play a straight game if they had to, because most people who know the game would kick the living s#&t out of them.

Oh bla bla bla with all of your calumniations.

Don't try and cover for the blatant cheaters, it's as simple as that.
