Is there a stop to Internet Backgammon cheaters?

So I have enjoyed playing Backgammon in the past, but nowadays is just IMPOSSIBLE.  I am sure many others have noticed this.  There are players out there that can control the dice at least for them, and some can even move more chips than the allowed by standard rules.

For example, not 10 minutes ago, I rolled 6 and 5, then the guy doubled me on his first roll, and got double three, then I rolled and I got 4 and 1, then he rolled and got 3 and 1, then I rolled and got 3 and 2, then he rolled and got double 5 eating my lonely chip in position 1 and covering position 3 from position 8.  Do you call that a lucky roll?  I call that an engineered roll, if you know Backgammon.

Yesterday, a guy moved 6 chips using a double 5.  That same guy rolled 4 consecutive pairs.

Yesterday, I had 5 out of 6 positions occupied in my side and I ate one of the other player's chips.  I did this repeatedly.  The guy just lost 1 roll out of 4 chips I ate.  He also had 5 of 6 positions occupied.  He ate a chip of mine twice.  I had to roll some 10 times before I could get out each time.

If you know Backgammon, you know this is NOT right.  Losers out there have found a way to cheat, and that ruins the fun for us, the ones with a brain.

Microsoft, please put an end to this.  Your Windows license is expensive, and I paid for it, and I expect to be able to enjoy all the features in the OS, and that includes the included Internet gaming.  Roll a patch that can end this blatant cheating!

The real thing is that this web site claims to be Microsoft.com.

Now this is only a game and has no real importance except that there are claims which state that Microsoft backgamon can  be cheated.

As they are a software manaufacture I am amazed that they are not jumping in here and defending their honour.

Prehaps there are cheaters and MS are not clever enough to figure a way to stop them.

How  many security patches have they comeout with for windows already. If they can't fix the OS then there is little chance of them fixing thes stupid little games.

May be it just shows how much they really care about us users their customers and what bloody fools we were to buy their software.

Especially when there is an abundance of open source free systems to choice from.  Take this example a buddy has a hard drive fail so he buys a new PC it comes with Microsoft Office student edition. The outlook program is only trial software. What do most people want to do surf the web, play games and email their friends. Well my buddy wanted to do address label printing and for that an address book is needed with MS Office 2010 the Word progams only seems to want to read the outlook address book database. Short answer MS want £119 for MS outlook.

Open source answer £0 LibreOffice and Motizilla Thunderbird.

Have a really nice day Bill Gates. Must be fun to give away so much of your customer hard earned cash. prehaps your ar right there could be some real big cheaters around.

I have played there years ago, but there is too much score cheating.  I once logged on two computers with different ids and played myself.  That's how player get high scores above 2600.

However, now that you have reminded me again, I may try it again.  Thanks.

I am also trying to get a group of local people to play BG on physical boards once a week for a dollar a point.  I was in a group several years ago and that's the best way to play - skill only counts here.

Yes skill is some times the answer.

And sometime its skill with cheats. The number of games that end with your opponent getting 3-5 doubles in a row should be statistically low. And its not.

Look up SQL injection and other means to subvert software -- if you think software does not get tricked or clients cracked. Software does get busted. Many consider that a bigger game than the programs original intent.

go to Pogo.  Nobody quits and there is a move timer where the palyer must forfeit if they don't move within a prescribed time, which is adjustable by the host.  It is free to sign up.  You see the screen name of the person who you are playing and you can choose not to play them in the future.  You will never waste your time with Msoft Backgammon again.
