I can't check for, download or install updates through Windows Update. HELP!

The Fix It thing did not work.
After running the program it says This Fix It failed to process.
I really need some help here! Tired of reading so many different solutions, trying them and they never work!

I have loaded "Fix it" But it does eliminate the issue.
Or, I can not find this below in Regedit to delete?
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Microsoft auto update = WUAUCLT.EXE
Any suggestions?

This did not work for me. I got the message that the 'Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur of the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance'. Did the above question ever get answered?
