System Interrupts Huge CPU Usage

Hi,

I have just recently installed Windows 7 Professional on my machine and I am having a problem with a process called System Interrupts using alot (25% approximately) of CPU.

I have tried several supposed fixes i have found here and on other forums but have not solved the issue.

I am at wits end.

My computer got so slow that the mouse was slow and jerky and I had to reboot. System interrupts was at about 30% CPU time. My PC is now with 5 days uptime and the bug seems to have disappeared. The following solution seems to solve the issue :

  1. Right-click on the speaker icon
  2. Select playback devices
  3. Click on the speaker properties
  4. Go to the enhancements Tab
  5. Click Disable All Sound Effects
  6. Click OK. You're done!

The sound enhancements seem for some reason to cause the problem even when not used. So disable them following the procedure above. Good luck!

    i am haveing a similar issue where my CPU is continualy running at 100% right now it is harming my fraimrate for nearly a year now i've been swaping graphic cards thinking it was that but i found out it is all in the cpu and it is a system interupts that is causing me the highest processer overload. i've done all the suggestions up to this point and nothing is slowing it down. if there is anymore suggestions i would love to hear it. the only other thing i can think of is to get a new processer and that is just expensive as ****. but i see no other choice. because the current processer is either overloaded with a standered microsoft too lazy to program things and check them correctly bug or it is broken somehow..

    well i think i think that might direction as it is definetely elated to acces of audio stuff i more used video acces which i think systems wise for power of the system but this one is just annoyingin ithink..  i will tet your route whether that is throuugh desktop where it should be by my actions or systems tools or config and device allocacation.  i will do one of them or

    I also discovered that Windows Media Centre slowed down my PC immensely with the mouse becoming unresponsive at times. I solved this by removing Windows Media Centre from Windows "Programs and Features" altogether. Give it a try! My PC behaves normally after this!

    Why would one remove Windows Media Centre altogether....what program should be used for music, videos and pictures then? I'm a little confused here. The previous 6 pages of this thread are so confusing for the novice computer user who has the same issue!! If the recommendations you posted do not help, then what would you suggest? Thank you so much for your time and assistance!
