I just bought a new laptop hp pavilion dv6-2020ev with windows 7 premium home. Out of  nowhere the computer shuts down and restarts showing the blue screen that says DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and the bottom it says ndis.sys and restart and goes through the process again, again and again...

I could not start safe mode with networking. It does the same thing as above, but I can start in safe mode and here are the problem details.

Hi steve45321,

Welcome to Microsoft Windows Vista Community site.

This issue is mainly caused by the driver error which is installed for your LAN CARD / NIC (Network card)

The issue can be resolved by downloading and installing the latest drivers for the NIC from the manufacture’s website.

Note: You might need to download the latest drivers in a different computer and install it in the computer where the issue is present, and you must boot to desktop with Safe Mode Option and install the latest drivers for the NIC

Reference Link for how boot to desktop in Safe Mode.

Let me know if this worked.

Hope this is helpful.

I installed some new memory a few weeks ago, so I tested it yesterday and found one of the DIMMs was bad.  I removed the defective one, and hope that reduces the # of BSODs I get!

Yes, that was a similar SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3b) stop error referencing the win32k.sys.

However there was also a BAD_POOL_HEADER (19) stop error that occurred today that appears to have been caused by the Pgpwdefs.sys:

    BugCheck 19, {3, fffffa8006bd8810, fffdfa8006bd8810, fffffa8006bd8810}

*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for Pgpwdefs.sys*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for Pgpwdefs.sysProbably caused by : Pool_Corruption ( nt!ExDeferredFreePool+a53 )

The process that crashed was the NetClient.exe so there may be an issue with the Pgpwdefs.sys or a conflict between the PGP software and Net Client software.

The minidump files showed a SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3b) stop error referencing the win32k.sys:

    BUCKET_ID:  X64_0x3B_win32k!xxxInternalDoPaint+19

The process that crashed was sametime.exe which may indicate increased network activity may  have occurred at the time of the crash so it is possible SEP contributed to the crash.

Did you receive just one bluescreen crash recently?

Well, I just got another BSOD a few minutes ago!  I uploaded the stuff to my public share again and it seems to have the same kinda' details...

    SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

    STOP: 0x0000003B

    win32k.sys

    https://skydrive.live.com/#cid=BBCC2EF6311C55AB&id=BBCC2EF6311C55AB%21153

    Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit w/ latest drivers installed.

    -Thanks,

    Erich
