Registry Cleaner that works well with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit OS

Do you or can you recommend a Registry Cleaner that works well with Windows 7?  In my searches I found RegAce to be the best recommend but on commencing to run the application Windows 7 gave a warning that it had not been tested on this OS.

What solution should I follow?

Have you tried to use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. Click here to download the tool.

You can use the utility to remove installation information for programs that were installed by using Windows Installer. Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.

Please reply back and let us know if this utlitiy helped to resolve your issue.

David, I recently ran across a similar problem on a friend's computer.  I even tried logging in as administrator in safe mode... nada.  Then someone suggested this

The free version worked awesome.  I used it and then uninstalled it.

    I use good old CCleaner.

    It works well for me. And, it's a'freebie'!

    There's only two parts...of it, to use, really, if you want to try it out?

    'Cleaner'. This removes cookies, etc. Use it 3 times, to thoroughly clean the cookies away.

    'Registry'. This does a good job at tidying up your registry. 

    Use the 'Fix issues' option.

    NOT use the 'Save Back-up' option when it shows up, after all, you are trying clean out the registry, not make more of a mess of it. Repeat use, until there are no more 'issues found'. (I have used this option, for many years, swear by it, as CCleaner doesn't give me any trouble....or, mess up my registry, using it the way I do.)

    All I know is DO NOT use PC Registry Cleaner with Windows 7.  It will make IE and Windows Explorer inoperative

    bought a brand new acer with windows 7 64 bit and must have downloaded a bad torrent or something but i wound up with this nero keygen thing that kept popping up every time i started the laptop up.  it was killing my start up times.  i know you guys know more than i do, but i just wanted to give you my .02.  i had to just track down all the files associated with the program. if you open the task manager and can find the processes associated with the program, then get the properties for it.  it will tell you what folder its in.  end all the processes before you try and delete the files otherwise it will just tell you its in use.  obviously be careful what files you are deleting when you do this.  since then i've been problem free.  i use malware-byte's anti-malware program to run a full scan every couple weeks and i'm good to go.
