Printer problem - Items sent to print are not printing.

I'm having problems with my printer.  If I send a document over to be printed it doesn't print?  There's no jam, the cartridges are full and there's  paper.  Help!

Hi Bob,

Getting a test page out is good start, but there a few thing s you can try to get your printer fully working...

Microsoft provides a Fix It tool which will troubleshoot the printer for you, and might give some useful information on what might be causing an issue:

If you are getting prints out it sounds as though there isn't much wrong with the spools service, but keep an eye on it as sometimes a print job can throw the service out. You'll find it in Services.

Also, make sure you have the latest driver for the printer from the manufacturers website. You view what drivers you have already from Print Management, which you can find in Administrative Tools from the Control Panel.

    I get a message that says "OneNote must start fpr the first time".  How do I do that?

    Just open Devices and Printers Windows and make sure is green mark on your printer.

    i have the hp 4500 all in one .  when i send a job to the printer, it states that it was sent successfully, yet it still doesn't print.  i do not know if i set the printer as a default, please tell me how i would know if i set the printer as a default

    I am experiencing the same problem with my Lexmark Z3200 printer. Everything dings when I plug it in and it has it's own AC power. It shows as the "READY" printer with a check mark in the device manager and when I send a document over to be printed it starts up, goes through the motions but that's it. No document is printed. I believe it is a plug-n-play so can anyone give some feedback as to why it falls to sleep when needed?
