I'm having problems with my printer.  If I send a document over to be printed it doesn't print?  There's no jam, the cartridges are full and there's  paper.  Help!

Hi Bob,

Getting a test page out is good start, but there a few thing s you can try to get your printer fully working...

Microsoft provides a Fix It tool which will troubleshoot the printer for you, and might give some useful information on what might be causing an issue:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-printer-problems

If you are getting prints out it sounds as though there isn't much wrong with the spools service, but keep an eye on it as sometimes a print job can throw the service out. You'll find it in Services.

Also, make sure you have the latest driver for the printer from the manufacturers website. You view what drivers you have already from Print Management, which you can find in Administrative Tools from the Control Panel.

Hope some this helps.

    Hello Alan,

I am also having the same frustrating problem using my new Acer Aspire M1900 PC (running on Windows 7 Premium) connected to a Brother DCP-115 C printer. In my case the answers to your questions 1&2)) computer is connected to printer via USB port on PC. 3) Printing error listed on print menu box. 4) As effort to solve problem, I uninstalled driver & re-installed latest version from manufacturer website. It worked once but print problem soon resurfaced on another day.

My other observation are 1) my printer prints only the frrst 5-6 lines of say a a 20 line document (both Word & Excel) and also first few lines of a test print page. 2) Each time I sent to print, the display window on printer shows "receiving data " but little else happens. 3) I now gets print job stuck in print queue. I had also been seeking technical help from local tech service of Brothers but problem remains unresolved todate. Pls advise what could be my printer problem.

I note that the DCP-115 C printer still works well with my old PC running on XP Home, when I re-connect it to my old PC.

    .Thks 2011David   .

Hi Bob, i know a lot of people have answered this, but if none of those works try this,

go to your printer queue. Like this Start Menu>Devices and Printers>(Your printer)

right click your printer and click "see whats printing". you should see all the stuff you tried to print. right click the first/top one and click "delete". it should say deleting.. if it doesn't delete or its taking forever, then use the trouble shoot, it should automatically delete it. then everything else should start printing.

If this doesn't work, you may have a diffrent problem.

Based on what ive read in comments, this should fix it.

NOTE: A LOT OF PEOPLE GET THIS. SO BOOKMARK(or fav or whatever) SO YOU CAN COME BACK IN TIME OF NEED!!
