The crashes do not stall my system its just that the pop up window shows up saying I have restart windows explorer again. I'm wondering if its a program I installed or something else. I do not want to reinstall windows 7 in order to fix this problem. Any help is appreciated. Please let me know if more information is required. Thank you.

Continual Windows Explorer crashes.  Depending on my activity, how many windows/programs I was opening and closing as often as every few minutes.

For me, it was the Trend Micro Internet Security Suite.  I took that out, life is good again and my new computer is finally performing as I expected it would.

A pity, I've been with them since they were PCCillin.

After I had my little rant about the Windows Explorer on here earlier today I just went and tested everything you all suggested. After going through the "third party" tools to see if that resolved anything, it didn't. I have all those things enabled again since none of the software or add-ons was the problem.

Here is what I did find and it is for my case so I don't know if this will help anyone else.

I shut all my programs down from running. I closed Outlook, I closed IE, I closed Firefox, I closed Captivate that I was running. Once I did all that, I went through clicking the folders I had the initial problem with Windows Explorer and restarting. When I closed everything down, the problem no longer occurred. For me, this may be a memory issue, although my machine shows I have plenty of memory. Maybe there is something with having too many programs open. This is a new computer and both new and old computer, Vista and Windows 7 was having the Windows Explorer issue.

Now, I don't know if that is the cure but I will do some more testing tomorrow and see. I will see if I can continue to use Windows Explorer when I am not running any programs open. If I find anything different, I will let you all know.I still don't believe I should have to do this just to prevent Windows from working properly. This issue needs to be documented to see if a "workaround" can be resolved for your next update. Because I do work in a software environment everday allowed me to troubleshoot this issue. Not everyone is "computer savvy" and knows the technical workarounds so it would be helpful for those people in the future. This workaround doesn't solve the problem with having a program you need open but at least it is a start.

Hope this workaround was able to help someone out there.

Instead of trolling around you should create a DUMP! With the dump I can tell you what is wrong and how to fix it!
