How can I convert my USB memory stick from EXFAT to NTFS? It's not letting me format it to NTFS.

Hi there,

I have bought 64GB USB Memory Stick. But I am not able to format this drive into NTFS file system. I have got Windows 7 operating system. It is only allowing me to formate it into EXFAT only. Because of non NTFS file system i am not able to copy bigger than 2GB file. Even sometimes if i copy the whole folder still nothing gets copy in it. Only the folder name.

I have tried different partition softwares to formate it into NTFS but still no louck atall. Even i tried to make partition of 8GB but still no luck.

So, is there any other way that i can formate my memory stick into NTFS file system.

Please help for this problem. I am looking for the solution since last 3 months.

    I am currently trying to format a (supposed to be 500 GB HP flash drive from exfat to NTFS. I have it formatting, or at least "saying it is formatting" by using the "Disk Management" component of windows 7. I had to do full format "not quick". Quick failed, just like the other suggestions here did for me.  I has taken almost 2 days, ok, maybe not 2 days, but up to about 30 hours, but is now at 94 % complete.  Disk management is horribly slow, but seems to be working. "or says it is". Will post if it worked afterwards.

    UPDATE

    500 gb flash drive completed NTFS healthy drive. Transferring a 19.2 GB file currently as a test. It is slow, but was expected. As long as it actually transfers it all. I can live with that. :)

    Almost 2500 files 19.2 GB in size. Have transferred a little over a gb already, holding between 3.32 - 2.42 MBs depending on the density of the file it is transferring. My computer is a very old dual core 800 mhz DDR2 unbuffered RAM system. So that isn't too shabby. ;)

    i will give this a go all else has not worked 

    i have 125gb usb flash drive on exfat need to change it to ntfs will update if worked or not

    While this DID format the drive? It still has problems. Turns out the flash drive I have is counterfit. Someone made it "appear" as 500 Gb. I have recently learned there is no 500 Gb USB flash drive. However this does work on legit drives.

    i had the sae problem with my usb 64 gb

    and i try everything

    and the best i did and i get it very good to NTFS

    go to START

              COMPUTER

               RIGHT KLIK ON THE USB DRIVER

               FORMAT

               THEN CHOOSE NTFS

    and dont forget its very important that u not vink the fast scan 

    then start

    will take longer time than with fast scan but will help it

    be sure that ur importent filse is replaced
