How can I convert my USB memory stick from EXFAT to NTFS? It's not letting me format it to NTFS.

Hi there,

I have bought 64GB USB Memory Stick. But I am not able to format this drive into NTFS file system. I have got Windows 7 operating system. It is only allowing me to formate it into EXFAT only. Because of non NTFS file system i am not able to copy bigger than 2GB file. Even sometimes if i copy the whole folder still nothing gets copy in it. Only the folder name.

I have tried different partition softwares to formate it into NTFS but still no louck atall. Even i tried to make partition of 8GB but still no luck.

So, is there any other way that i can formate my memory stick into NTFS file system.

Please help for this problem. I am looking for the solution since last 3 months.

    Thanks for the tip. I tried the Mini Partition Wizard and did convert an exFat disk to NTFS bit it somehow could not read files transferred to it

    Tried another disk and it totally corrupted it till it's now a deadweight

    Guess need to work more on it.

     Thank you for your suggestion anyway.

    Got my external disk back to NTFS.

    Microsoft do not provide any means of converting an ex-FAT USB stick to NTFS.

    I am by no means a computer expert but I have just successfully used "Mini Tool Partition Wizard" and found it to be a very simple process.  As I am wary of using third party partitioning tools, I was very careful not to touch any other drive.

    I have seen so many questions about converting ex-FAT to NTFS on the web along with numerous answers that simply do not work, with some answerers even suggesting that the stick acquired from eBay was a duff one.

    I bought my 500GB USB stick from eBay and now, thanks to "Mini Tool Partition Wizard", it is working as well as any other stick and is even working on my HD TV

    YOU CAN USE WINDOWS XP TO FORMAT IT EITHER USE EASUS PARTITON MANAGER TO CONVERT TO FAT32 THEN USE CMD OPTION WITH ADMIN MODE THEN CONVERT TO NTFS.

    This method doesn't work. On command prompt it says "CONVERT is not available for EXFAT drives."

    use easus to convert fat32 then use cmd option to convert ntfs.
