Hello Trackrat98,

Thank you for posting your question.

This issue occurs because of a missing or corrupted Rundll32.exe file. This issue may also be caused by a virus.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

1. Put the
Windows XP CD ROM disk in the CD ROM drive.
2. Click
Start , and then click Run .
3. Type
expand X :\i386\rundll32.ex_ c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe
in the Open box, where X is the letter of your CD ROM Drive.
4. Restart the computer

For more detailed information please see the corresponding KB article.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion, Lisa! I did try the link but it says page no longer found.

Do you happen to know of any other solution to this darn missing file? I cannot open any apps in my Control Panel! Ack!

Has anybody found a solution to this problem yet? Thanks so much for any attempts to answer!

:)

EDIT: I GOT IT!!!! By browsing the internet, I came upon this answer:

***Find a copy of rundll32.exe in folder c:\windows\system32\dllcache or in c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386.

If you find this, go ahead and copy rundll32.exe to the system folder c\windows\system32.

Otherwise you need a windows disc to expand this file.***

I dd a search on my computer for the file "rundll32.exe" and it came up in a few different folders on my harddrive. But it NEEDS to be in c:\windows\system32 (the folder it was missing from). I found the file in the dllcache folder as indicated above, then simply copied and pasted it into the system32 folder. And WALLAH!!! Problem solved and Control Panel and everything else works just great now! So simple!!! Hope this works for you folks who are still struggling with this issue!

??\C:\Windows is a hidden directory wherein Microsoft with it's direct order's from the Obama Administration that is a puppet organization for the Illuminati has been ordered to create on all Windows 7, windows 8 installations for the purpose of hiding files that Microsoft does not want novice end users of Microsoft products to be able to access. In this hidden directory are all the files Microsoft uses to be able to defeat all attempts for home or corporate users to be able to secure their networks from the ability of government agencies to be able to access and any all data that most users think are secure from being accessed. Microsoft's purposes for creating this hidden, (to most except those like me who have studied computers for decades) this directory is inaccessible. Any ordinary attempts to rid one's self of unnecessary and dangerous files like the msra.exe and mstsc.exe that enable remote access to one's computer are kept intact within this hidden directory. The purposes for this are totally sinister and have to do with Microsoft's total sell out to our own so call government which has been taken over by puppet head figures like Obama, Bush, (Jr. and Sr.) and all the other puppet head figures for the Illuminati who have plans to wipe out the vast majority of the world's population so that the remaining few will be much more easily controllable by the remaining elite New World Order government which will in turn be taken over by the AntiChrist himself and the end of this world as we know it will culminate with the glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ in His fully visible, manifested glory and He will reign here for all eternity with all of His enemies in ****, where they so justly belong. Microsoft sold out long ago to the encroaching new world order that has been in the process of turning this world's governments into a One World Government that will be destroyed along with all of the egomaniacs who aspire to it's insane goals. You have not security with Microsoft products. Out of the box all versions of Windows are shot through with so many vulnerabilities that an experienced script kiddie could hack your windows install in a matter of minutes. Wake up people. It's much later than you think. Accept Jesus Christ now before all of your worldly pipe dreams go up in the smoke of the nuclear conflagration that caused Jesus to say except those days were shortened NO FLESH would be saved wake up.
