Error Code 0x80041004

Today I started getting network error code 0x80041004 while trying to play internet checkers. What is this error code and how do I fix it?

Problem solved. Yeay, I can now play Internet backgammon after days of torture. I use Win 7. Clear the SSL State by following these steps.

a. Press the Windows Key and the R key simultaneously to get the Run prompt.

b. In the Run prompt, type inetcpl.cpl and press enter.

c. In the Internet Properties window, click on the Content tab.

d. Click on Clear SSL State.

I appreciate your suggestion - which may be helpful in a corrupted SSL state.

But in the current case, error 0x80041004 was just a simple game server connection issue. I was notified this morning about the posts given above. My short test on a Windows 7 production machine shows, that MS Internet games are working again - whitout any further interaction - a kind of voodoo. Or some Microsoft supporter hit the reset button on a game server ;-) - cheers.

    0x80041004 the solution w7 : 

    disable games Control Panel, method that does not change :(
    1. update time computer "internet time" or manual.
    2. update antivirus,wait 20 seconds or restart computer notification,

    run again , and again and again until no update notification

    1. run Windows update,

    wait 20 seconds or restart computer notification,

    run again , and again and again until no update notification

    1. update graphics card drivers in official site name graphic card
    2. turn off your computer and restart

    6) advice: execute advanced malware scan free in malwarebytes official site :

    This is another sad recommendation that does NOT fix the problem. If it works it is a coincidence and Microsoft probably fixed their servers while you were busy doing this.

    Hi,

    You may follow the steps mentioned below:

    1.      Click the Start button, click Control Panel, click Programs, and then click Turn Windows features on or off. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    2.      To turn a Windows feature on, select the check box next to the feature. To turn a Windows feature off, clear the check box beside Games.    Click OK.

    3.      Reboot your computer.

    4.     Now, go back to Turn Windows features on and check the box for Games.

    5.      Reboot. The game should now work as expected.

    This is s standard Microsoft answer that does NOT solve the problem. I tried this several times over the past few years. It has NEVER worked for me. It may appear to work if Microsoft fixes their server issue at the same time.
