PresentationFontCache.exe uses 50%+ of my CPU

PresentationFontCache.exe uses 50%+ of my CPU and therefore my 64 bit Windows 7 system runs even slower than it did with Vista.  Is there a fix other than killing it every time I boot up?

Go to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\ ,delete all Font*.dat and reboot it.

Hi,

the service PresentationFontCache.exe is only usefull if you use WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) applications. If not, start services.msc and disable the service.

    Thanks a ton!  this was really helpful!  It was taxing my system so much it was running my temp up into the 60C at what I thought was idle!  I cleaned it (twice) and was about to take it apart!  You saved my more than slightly confused butt here! thanks!

    servivces.msc tells me nothing .shows me nothing . I have to disable presectaiuonfont cache at evry turn on ..
