How to print all the files in a folder without opening each one?

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me how to print all files contained within a folder? I often need to print many files contained within a folder and this would save me a great deal of time!

I've done some testing, and it appears that Windows 7 only allows printing multiple files when they're all the same file type.  So, for example, you can select and print 15 Word documents, but not one Word document and one PDF document.

To work around this limitation, you can print each file type separately.  For example, to print the PDF files in a folder:

  1. Type *.PDF in the Search box at the upper right.
  2. For 1-15 files, press CTRL+A to select all of them.
  3. For 16 or more files, select 15 of them (click the first, SHIFT +click the last).
  4. Right-click any file and click Print .
  5. Repeat steps 3-4 as required.

    Not really helpful to me for two reasons:

    1. It automatically sends them to your default printer, doesn't give you a chance to select an alternative
    2. It doesn't really batch print them, it opens 15 copies of MSWord and clicks the print button for you, horribly RAM intensive process that could crash lower spec PCs.

    I want a feature that will batch print to PDF, name them the same as the original Word doc, and give me a chance to choose something other than my default printer.

    Using Windows 8, in the year 2017, the suggested fix doesn't work.  After reading many other suggestions at other threads found by googling, and trying several of them, the only one that worked was a free program called PDF2Printer Batch Print (comes with PDF2Printer for Windows 8).  See http://www.win8pdf.com/pdf-to-printer.html.  It's surprising that neither Windows nor Adobe Acrobat can accomplish this simple task (though of course Windows does a great job printing Office files from a folder).

    It can be done by two methods.

    Method - 1

    (a) Select the PDF file / files (maximum allowable 15 at a time for this method).

    (b) Right click on the any of the selected PDF file.

    (c) Follow through the Default Windows Right Click menu to find 'Print'

    (d) Click on it... your files will be printed in background process (it may delay / vary printing time according to your file sizes chosen for print).

    Method - 2

    Install any Software related to this type of Printing.

    if not aware of this, i will tell you the one i am using. its pretty good option.

    Software : Print Conductor (Google It for more info) or follow official website below

    In method 1 - it will print only to the default printer to default size set by you.

    But this software will be better if you have more than 1 Printer and in network printing mode.

    This helps you to Choose The Printer and desired sizes of Paper available in market Such as A-series (A5/A4/A3/A2/A1/A0) and Letter Sizes.

    Now since I want to print the files in a different size (say default is letter and I want to print the files in legal), is there anyway to open the print setting dialog box? what do I do?
