Numeric Keypad doesn't work

Since installing Windows 7 (from Vista) my numeric keypad does not work (and yes I have checked that the Num Lock is on).  I've checked that the driver is current and cleaned the keyboard and contacts.  Funny thing is when I moved the keyboard to another computer, the numeric keypad worked fine.  I hooked up the keyboard from that computer and the numeric pad would not work.    I checked the properties and they have the same drivers.  What could cause this error on just one computer (both were updated at the same time)?

Hi ifsandorbuts,

·         Is it a USB keyboard? If yes, then try connecting the keyboard to different USB port and check if the issue still occurs. Let us know the results.

Even try enabling numeric keypad and check if it helps, here are the steps:

1.       Open On-Screen Keyboard by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking Ease of Access, and then clicking On-Screen Keyboard.

2.       Click Options, select the Numeric Keypad check box, and then click OK.

Thanks and Regards:

This was the most helpful answer! I must have accidently hit the FN lock button (F12 apparently!).  I knew I must have done something but i thought it was scroll lock.

Thank you! I was ready to pull my hair out because I've been trying for a few hours to write a paper and have had nothing but technical difficulties.

This also worked for my Win7 x64. Occurred after IE 11 install.
