Numeric Keypad doesn't work

Since installing Windows 7 (from Vista) my numeric keypad does not work (and yes I have checked that the Num Lock is on).  I've checked that the driver is current and cleaned the keyboard and contacts.  Funny thing is when I moved the keyboard to another computer, the numeric keypad worked fine.  I hooked up the keyboard from that computer and the numeric pad would not work.    I checked the properties and they have the same drivers.  What could cause this error on just one computer (both were updated at the same time)?

Hi ifsandorbuts,

·         Is it a USB keyboard? If yes, then try connecting the keyboard to different USB port and check if the issue still occurs. Let us know the results.

Even try enabling numeric keypad and check if it helps, here are the steps:

1.       Open On-Screen Keyboard by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking Ease of Access, and then clicking On-Screen Keyboard.

2.       Click Options, select the Numeric Keypad check box, and then click OK.

Thanks and Regards:

the on screen keyboard works just fine. when i toggle the num lock on/off with the onscreen keyboard, the light toggles on/off on the physical keyboard, but no numbers work on the physical, only the onscreen version.

the problem I have is with the physical usb keyboard and Windows 10.

I have swapped out the keyboard for 3 others and the problem persists!

EASIER TO FIND EASE OF ACCESS BY JUST TYPING IT INTO THE SEARCH WINDOW (WIN 10).

THEN OPEN THE ON-SCREEN KEYBOARD, CLICK ON OPTIONS, TURN ON NUM KEY PAD.

    WORKED, THAT EASY.
