i have set my screen saver to bubbles, after approx an hour or so the bubbles on the screen are whizzing by very very fast. no other issues with screen saver. system recovers after mouse wiggle or key press. havent tried any other saver.
dx up to date, vid drivers up to date
running W7 64 bit
duel vid cards gtx275 sli

I did some 2min research and found this site Here . This "mod" doesnt really change the settings for the speed but it does allow you to tweak some other stuff for the bubbles screensaver. Just have a mess with some of the settings and see how things go from there. Sorry if this sounds vague but its all i can think up of right now - better than nothing i guess. M$ really does need to fix this, theyve nothing for ages now :(
I'm having the issue of super-speed bubbles, too. Running a new install of Windows 7 x64, with 4GB RAM, E7500 Core2Duo, and Radeon HD 6770. I had the problem while my GeForce 8600 GTS 512MB was working, and while I had a E6300 CPU in it and only 2GB of RAM in it as well. Right now, using dual monitors, and earlier when I had the problem, I wasn't. So I'm pretty sure it's not a GPU problem, it's not a dual-monitor problem, it's not a CPU problem, nor is it a RAM problem. That tells me it's not hardware problem, but a software problem, in this case, a Windows problem, and from the replies here, it's been happening for years now, in Vista and in Windows 7 and in 8 now as well. ****, Microsoft? Either fix your stuff, or make your OS open source so we can fix it.
I have the same issue here on Windows 10. But I've also seen this occur on Windows 7 and 8 too on various systems. I also have experienced the same thing in VM's running Windows 8 and Windows 10.
I have a Surface Pro 3 tablet upgraded to Windows 10...the bubbles run fine, even for an extended period of time. I also have a Lenovo upgraded to Windows 10, with a dual monitor, and the bubbles race. Before I upgraded to Windows 10 I completed a factory reset on the Lenovo. Nothing seems to help.
mine does this at work - 2 screens and extended display, and at home - all in one monitor, only one screen. 2 screens are Win7, all in one Win 8.1
