Would have been helpful if ednlible told us.

I did some 2min research and found this site Here . This "mod" doesnt really change the settings for the speed but it does allow you to tweak some other stuff for the bubbles screensaver. Just have a mess with some of the settings and see how things go from there. Sorry if this sounds vague but its all i can think up of right now - better than nothing i guess. M$ really does need to fix this, theyve nothing for ages now :(

It's not a "problem" per say.

I'm no expert, but some of the bubbles collide, and with others they do not. From what I understand, the computer will keep adding more bubbles, and remove those as needed... it's like putting something on an extremely slippery puck, in an extremely slippery ice rink, and bouncing a ton on it.

Now when a computer tries to generate this, it can - in a way - totally flip out. A computer cannot recreate physical properties as well as, well... Reality, obviously. However, to further emphasize this, If you have ever heard of Garry's mod, a sandbox "do what you wish" sort of game, has this same principle put into practice.

Let it be agreed upon that if you add similar objects into a box that stays the same size...

... it is the exact same as using one fixed amount of that object, inside a box that metaphorically shrinks.

When a computer tries to recreate any of these scenarios, it is difficult for it to realize what the boundaries are, of an object, and it actively corrects its mistakes. These mistakes being that the objects will collide and sort of occupy the same space at the same time (Any science buffs know this is impossible). The problem stems from HOW it corrects itself, by quickly accelerating both objects directly away from each other, in order to separate each other in the shortest amount of time.

This acceleration is the direct reason for why the bubbles get so fast, and without a variable coded for them to have friction, nothing slows them down or stops them from speeding up.

That's my explanation with my simple knowledge of computers and how graphics work. Feel free, Microsoft, to correct me, but I feel that it is correct here. Essentially, if you can find a plugin or a customized screensaver with added controllable variables for the bubbles, that could work. Otherwise, enjoy your mini speed-racer, hampster ball, bubbles.

Why can't MS just let us modify the setting of the speed...?

I am sure it's just a simple parameter.

It's very trivial but I hate it when I am out of my room for few minutes and the screen would go crazy when I am back, especially annoying when I turn off the light of my room while leaving the PC on, the room would be shining like having a flash light on, even from the living room I could notice the flashes...

    Not cool MS...

mine does this at work - 2 screens and extended display, and at home - all in one monitor, only one screen. 2 screens are Win7, all in one Win 8.1
