Win 7 clock is always incorrect.  Have changed internet time servers - no help.  Have disabled sync with internet time - no help.  Have verified correct time in Bios. Have disabled the time sync and manually set the clock and within 10 mins it is already losing time. Not sure what to try next?

I had the same issue on my computer and I found this to fix it.

Click on start and then type services in the search bar.

Click on Services then scroll through the list that pops up and select windows time and then change Startup type from automatic to disabled.

Restart your computer and your time should change to the correct time.

    Hello Rehman,

Thank you for the prompt reply.  I ran sfc and it did not find any incorrect versions.

I followed the instructions for the command prompt troubleshoot on the windows time service and will monitor to see if it is effective.  It did restart the service and sync the service.

    Hi,

Usually, this issue is caused when the Windows Time service has gone corrupt. You can try the following steps to troubleshoot this issue.

Run the following commands in an elevate privileges command prompt.

Click on start, All programs, accessories, right click on command prompt and then click on “Run as administrator”.

Type each one of the command below and press enter.

    net stop w32time

    w32tm /unregister

    w32tm /register

    net start w32time

    w32tm /resync

Restart the computer to test the issue again.

W32tm.exe is used to configure Windows Time service settings. It can also be used to diagnose problems with the time service. W32tm.exe is the preferred command line tool for configuring, monitoring, or troubleshooting the Windows Time service.

You also perform System File Checker.

                 1.      Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command

Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the

                          password, or click Allow.

                2.      Type the following command, and then press ENTER:

    sfc /scannow

The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.
