Windows Time is always wrong in 64bit Win 7.

Win 7 clock is always incorrect.  Have changed internet time servers - no help.  Have disabled sync with internet time - no help.  Have verified correct time in Bios. Have disabled the time sync and manually set the clock and within 10 mins it is already losing time. Not sure what to try next?

I had the same issue on my computer and I found this to fix it.

Click on start and then type services in the search bar.

Click on Services then scroll through the list that pops up and select windows time and then change Startup type from automatic to disabled.

Restart your computer and your time should change to the correct time.

Check the update history, if the December 2009 cumulative time zone updates kb976098 was already applied.

1.    Click on Start, click Run, type**%systemroot%\windowsupdate.log**, and then click Ok.

2.    Click on Edit, Find and enterkb976098.

    I followed these as my clock is set wrong due to DST set to OCT 9th instead of OCT 29th. but didn't change time, and locked me out of internet time settings now...

If time and date always reset after a while, and You'we tried everything, than You might have a hardware fault (motherboard perhaps). I had this problem on my Windows 10 device, which caused a lot of application and webpages not to work at all. This simple software helped me not throw my device away.

    I checked my settings with another posters suggestion and found my setting was wrong.

    This is what I did:

    click start

    Type 'services' in the search bar

    Select services along side the 'cog' icon which should appear.

    when the window opens and the right hand pane populates scroll down to Windows time and click on that item.

    check what it says under the column 'Startup type'  (mine was set to manual for some reason)

    in the menu options select action and scroll down to properties.

    Now under the General tab there is an option to change the Startup type to a whole host of things.  I changed mine to automatic and it worked ok since (well for 15 minutes anyway it kept up with the time on this website:

    http://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/bst  (but you may need another website to check if not working to BST)

    Its worth noting here that the other poster who directed me to this setting suggested choosing disable rather than automatic.  They said it worked for them.
