This is the answer --- I installed Synaptics for Vista even though I have Windows 7 --- they work beautifully together. You can then disable your touchpad and us a bluetooth mouse and the problem is solved!!! It's great.

I had Windows Vista Home Premium installed on my Sony VAIO PCG-5KSP laptop computer.
It never happened before, but after I installed Windows 7 the touchpad sensitivity went through the roof. The cursor constantly will be "clicked" by my finger or wrist and move to where the mouse is located while I am typing.
It's already happened twice while typing this! I have already tried searching for TouchPad and looked under Control Panel > Mouse >
There is no tab for Properties/Settings with Sensitivity. Under Properties is only shows General, Driver, and Details, and if I click on Change Settings it again only has General, Driver, and Detail tabs.
Where can I change the stupid touchpad sensitivity??

2010-12-24T09:27:49+00:00 Rocokoko thank you thank you thank you!!!!!! I have a vaio vgn-nw that suddenly lost the scroll ability. I tried the synaptics and only had the buttons or overview option like mandolin123. The dell driver worked! I can scroll again!

2010-12-09T08:28:08+00:00 Sony has a new touchpad driver for the Vaio. Most computers are being load with an actual mouse pointer date 3/2010. They have an actual TOUCHPAD driver that has the date 8/17/2010 available for windows 7 64bit. When it installs it gave me an error that it wasn;t compatible with the operating system. After finishing the load it actually did update the driver but not the original date of 3/10/2010. It works and has a ton of option to adjust the touchpad. Hope this helps. Here is the driver update.
