Windows 7 has stopped my SD card reader from working.

My SD card reader doesn't work in Windows 7. Have looked in device manager and all is there - have tried updating drivers and told mine are the latest (2006)...

I am not impressed with this system....looks like another Vista farce to me....

Also I have had to hard boot 4 times because my screen has frozen......WTF is going on??

Hi,

Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button ![](http://res2.windows.microsoft.com/resbox/en/Windows 7/Main/4/f/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.jpg) , clicking Control Panel , clicking Appearance and Personalization , and then clicking Folder Options .

Find these settings on the View tab in Folder Options.

Clear the Hide empty drives in the Computer folder check box, and then click OK .

    Restart Your system and check is this driver working.

    This driver should be correct.

    Hi Daniel yes have rebooted often. But still no joy. What is compability mode you mentioned? I will try reinstalling them in that mode. Thanks

    Have tried that now - still no joy - have been trawling the "net" and from what I can see this is a windows 7 problem. Pity that it wasn't picked up in the trials.

    I upgraded a few days ago to Win 7 from Vista. I too noted that my card reader did not show up on the drive listing. What I did find however that when I inserted any and all cards into their associated slots that viola they appeared on the drive listing when viewing the My Computer screen.  So like you I was assuming since I can't see them they are not there. Try it see if it does the same for you.  Yes, and the card reader worked flawlessly.
