Windows 7 has stopped my SD card reader from working.

My SD card reader doesn't work in Windows 7. Have looked in device manager and all is there - have tried updating drivers and told mine are the latest (2006)...

I am not impressed with this system....looks like another Vista farce to me....

Also I have had to hard boot 4 times because my screen has frozen......WTF is going on??

Hi,

Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button ![](http://res2.windows.microsoft.com/resbox/en/Windows 7/Main/4/f/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.jpg) , clicking Control Panel , clicking Appearance and Personalization , and then clicking Folder Options .

Find these settings on the View tab in Folder Options.

Clear the Hide empty drives in the Computer folder check box, and then click OK .

    After some hours of hunting around I found Windows 7 does not and will not support card readers.

    This statement id "FALSE."  Windows 7 will support card readers.  My SANDISK card readers are working correctly.  It should be noted the not "all" readers will be supported but this is not a Windows 7 problem nor Microsoft's fault.  Microsoft does not make the "card readers" and if the card reader's manufacturer does not offer Windows 7 "compatibility" then unfortunately the reader will probably "not ever" work.

    Descargar el driver Para Memory Stick Car Reader Sony Vaio VGN-CR120E.

    NOTA:  Todos los drivers  de esta portatil son reconocidos por Windows 7 Ultimate. EXCEPTO, la camara web. la cual instale desde los drivers de windows XP que estan en la pagina del fabricante,  El lector de memorias SD (Aun no lo he podido activar) y este que finalmente ya active que es el  Memory Stick Reader .

    Drivers Para Windows 7  Sony Vaio.

    Despues de   invertir varias horas buscando los drivers genericos para el Memory Stick Car reader de La portatil VAIO Modelo PCG-5G3l encontre el driver generico que  permite que funcione en Windows 7.

    En buena teoria  trabaja bien en Cualquier portatil de cualquier marca …

    Igualmente trabaja para Windows XP, Windows Vista,  y por supuesto puedo dar mi testimonio que trabaja en Windows 7.
