Windows 7 has stopped my SD card reader from working.

My SD card reader doesn't work in Windows 7. Have looked in device manager and all is there - have tried updating drivers and told mine are the latest (2006)...

I am not impressed with this system....looks like another Vista farce to me....

Also I have had to hard boot 4 times because my screen has frozen......WTF is going on??

Hi,

Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button ![](http://res2.windows.microsoft.com/resbox/en/Windows 7/Main/4/f/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33/4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.jpg) , clicking Control Panel , clicking Appearance and Personalization , and then clicking Folder Options .

Find these settings on the View tab in Folder Options.

Clear the Hide empty drives in the Computer folder check box, and then click OK .

    1. I tried downloading the updates as mentioned and now get this

    SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controllernow with a yellow exclamation mark - not working..this wasn't there before...

    Here is support site for Your Samsung model.

    Click there on Driver.

    There are all latest drivers for Your model.

    Download MMCR file which is Your driver for card reader. Link is avaible here . It was released on 2009/02/17 for Vista.

    Go to Control Panel -> Devices Manager

    Find there Your reader card, click on it with right button of Your mouse and choose uninstall driver.

    When You will do that try to install this file which You alreadt downloaded. IF there will be any problems with instalation try to install it in compability mode. How to do it all information here.

    Go again to Control Panel -> Devices Manager

    Please post here Your product number. NP-X11 A501/SUK   ser no <serial number removed>

    How to find p/n number on Samsung product. (click there on PC/Peripherals and check Note PC).

    2.

    Go to Control Panel -> Devices Manager

    Click with right button of Your mouse on each yellow sign and choose properties. Then go to bottom details and paste here Hardware Ids. This way we will know what it is.

    Below You've got example how to do it:

    Hard ware ID is SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller

    There are no yellow signs - says it is working correctly - it just ISN'T...
