Hi,

1.       Did you make any changes to the computer off late?

2.       Have you updated the display drivers?

3.       Do you have any games installed on the computer?

I would first suggest you to check the computer manufacturer`s website for the latest drivers available and update the same.

Games often change the screen resolution and so do some other programs. You can try performing a clean boot process to find out if there is any program or application causing this issue. Follow this Knowledge Base Article.

Note: Make sure you put the computer back to Normal Startup once troubleshooting is completed.

Windows Answer is nonsense I wonder who pays for that nonsens answers

Try this, I successfully solved my problem with this

    1. Click the “Start” (orb-like) button.
    2. Type “msconfig”(without the quotes) and press enter.
    3. You’ll get a small window. In that select the “boot” tab.
    4. Under that select your operating system(it would be selected by default unless you have a dual-boot).
    5. Make sure the “Base Video” option is UNCHEKED.
    6. Apply the settings and then reboot your system after setting your desired resolution.
    7. I hope this solves your problem!

ok i finally got a chance to work on the computer and im pleased to report back that i found what was causeing the problem in question after i had checked to make sure that the video drivers where up to date i ended up doing the clean boot to find what was causeing the problem after several hours of working with it i found that it was a software issue with there webcam...to be more exact they have a logitech quickcam the problem is occurs if the webcam software is loaded that is  the Logitech Webcam Software(LWS.exe) that forces the resulotion to change to a lower setting so i uninstalled that protion of software left the drivers for the cam and everythign is doing just fine now.....and thanks for the help you gys have been very helpful as well thank yuo
