Windows 7 is Blurry/Fuzzy for me...

I love it, dont get me wrong but ahhh i wanna continue to use it...but it all just seems fuzzy and i've tried everything from Changing the DPI, to resolutions to clear type text, to screen refresh rates, nothing...just nothing makes it seem crisp like it was when i was using vista. i have a 17 inch screen. LCD flat panel. on vista i use to use 1024x768 but its way to blurry and large on windows 7. Im using a Radeon hd 4350...so i thought maybe its the driver. Updated it. still nothing. Blurry and fuzzy. It can be tough on the eyes so im just about ready to go back to vista. If anyone can help, that would be great. Windows 7 is great and i really want to continue to use it. Thank you.

You can try updating your video card driver by visiting the manufacturers website and downloading it from there rather than using the Update Driver function in the Device Manger, as that will only update to a driver from Microsoft.

Also, most LCD monitors have a native resolution that if set to a different resolution will make the view distorted and blurry like your describing. I suspect that it's 1024x768 for the 17" monitor, as it worked in Vista that way and works in Windows 7 that way.

    Hey guys, I've had the same problem but have just fixed it so thought it best to register just to tell you all how I did it.

    It's a new computer, fresh legit Windows 7 install etc. I have an ATI graphics card in the 5xxx series. I've been getting a very distinct blur on text and such. I downloaded Catalyst Control Center and updated drivers. Nothing happened so I opened it up again, clicked on the little house button in the top right of the software when you load it up, then click on your little arrow on the screen profile thing on the bottom left .Then click Configure Display. Click the Adjustments tab, and check 'Composite Sync'.

    Then it just fixes itself :S

    I'm on 1920x1080. Hope any of this helped.

    This might help seeing as i had this coupled with another problem namely the i play games in windowed mode allot so i can watch and play at the same time and i had vista it all worked fine i upgraded my comp to a win7and when I played windowed games and general  text it was fuzzy, sorted it by plaaying about last night,

    on win 7 you can personalize your display, right click anywhere on the desktop

    then in that box theres a link to dispay  (bottom left corner) click on that and it takes you to a new page.

    then click set custom dpi on the left hand task bar

    and reduce the size to the smallest size, it asks you to log off and on and voila its sorted.

    Beware:  Setting DPI for fonts to anything but the default (96) can have undesireable side-effects. 

    • For example, some web pages will miscalculate the width of the text in areas or menus, truncating it.
    • And some important popup windows for making settings size their window for 96dpi  only with no scrollbars, so larger dpi can push the "Accept" and "Cancel" buttons below the bottom of the window without offering any scrollbar to be able to see it.  (The buttons are there, but you can only reach them via tab and you have to guess which things are being selected since you can't see them.)
