Windows 7 is Blurry/Fuzzy for me...

I love it, dont get me wrong but ahhh i wanna continue to use it...but it all just seems fuzzy and i've tried everything from Changing the DPI, to resolutions to clear type text, to screen refresh rates, nothing...just nothing makes it seem crisp like it was when i was using vista. i have a 17 inch screen. LCD flat panel. on vista i use to use 1024x768 but its way to blurry and large on windows 7. Im using a Radeon hd 4350...so i thought maybe its the driver. Updated it. still nothing. Blurry and fuzzy. It can be tough on the eyes so im just about ready to go back to vista. If anyone can help, that would be great. Windows 7 is great and i really want to continue to use it. Thank you.

You can try updating your video card driver by visiting the manufacturers website and downloading it from there rather than using the Update Driver function in the Device Manger, as that will only update to a driver from Microsoft.

Also, most LCD monitors have a native resolution that if set to a different resolution will make the view distorted and blurry like your describing. I suspect that it's 1024x768 for the 17" monitor, as it worked in Vista that way and works in Windows 7 that way.

    I was having the problem of windows 7 OS windows and controls being crisp and clear, but third party software (quicken) being blurry. I found that microsoft added a new feature to windows 7 that is causing this problem. The link below lists how to solve this problem.

    I had the same issue, blurry text, when I upgraded from XP to Windows 7.  I had crispy clear text with XP.

    Blurry text can be the result of various causes, but when you have the problem on a known crispy text system with XP, this solution might work for you.

    Assuming the video and monitor drivers are correct and all the screen and display settings are set appropriately, you need to turn off a text enhancement feature called Clear Type Text / Smooth Edges of Screen Fonts.

    1. Turn off Clear Type Text by Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization>Display>Adjust Clear type text.
    2. Turn off Smooth edges of screen fonts by Start>Search (Visual Effects) and choose from the results Adjust appearance and performance of Windows, and deselect Smooth edges of screen fonts

    You will see the change immediately with body text and may have to refresh applications to see it with the menu bars.

    Hi Soren,

    Yes, that was the first thing I tried.

    Actually, I tried a lot of things already.

    Like downloading the latest drivers, bying a new screen, tried cleartype on and off, set different resolution.

    The only thing I tried nog, was to use different fonts. Don't know how and don't now which fonts to use.

    But I cannot imagine that's the issue here..

    Somebody please...
