Hello, somehow I have managed to disable the shortcuts for cutting and pasting. I can only do it manually through the menu bar. I cannot Ctrl C or Ctrl V anymore - nothing happens! What have I done? Please help.

Annoying problem if you rely 100% on keyboard shortcuts! I had the same problem and the fix is very easy. You will need to uninstall your keyboard driver and restart your computer and your CTRL keys will function once again. To do this:
1) Click Start
2) Control Panel
3) Printers and Other Hardware
4) Keyboard
5) In the Keyboard Properties window, click Hardware
6) Click Properties
7) Click Driver
8) Click Uninstall, click OK
9) Restart your Computer

Is this only happening in Microsoft Word or does this also occur in other programs like 'Notepad"? I went to Microsoft Word support and am showing commands listed below. Again, if only happening within Word, I would suggest going to site listed.

omg thank you! this was killing my productivity and driving me insane! only in office the issue was present, system wide it ctrl v or c work just fine!
I just recently migrated to Office 365 and find that CTRL+SHIFT+C does not appear to work. When I try this keyboard sequence, I get a note in the status bar that "The specified text is not a valid building block name". This makes no sense to me. It seems as if CTRL+SHIFT+C is assigned to another command and I can't figure out what that other command is.
I have the same problem.
Ctrl C, Ctrl V, Ctrl Z, Ctrl F, Ctrl X and other combinations of Ctrl Key are not working. If I hold down Fn key with Ctrl then all Ctrl combinations become functional!!!
Re-installing keyboard driver didn't help (Win 7).
