Hello, somehow I have managed to disable the shortcuts for cutting and pasting. I can only do it manually through the menu bar. I cannot Ctrl C or Ctrl V anymore - nothing happens! What have I done? Please help.

Annoying problem if you rely 100% on keyboard shortcuts! I had the same problem and the fix is very easy. You will need to uninstall your keyboard driver and restart your computer and your CTRL keys will function once again. To do this:
1) Click Start
2) Control Panel
3) Printers and Other Hardware
4) Keyboard
5) In the Keyboard Properties window, click Hardware
6) Click Properties
7) Click Driver
8) Click Uninstall, click OK
9) Restart your Computer

Is this only happening in Microsoft Word or does this also occur in other programs like 'Notepad"? I went to Microsoft Word support and am showing commands listed below. Again, if only happening within Word, I would suggest going to site listed.

I use OFFICE 2007, and I have problem that my CTRL+ A,S,Z,X,C,Y are not working. So I have followed your instruction and was pretty close to correct. And then found out that incustomizesection I can not find commands like cut =CTRL+x, or paste CTRL+v, (strangely, I can find copy format =ALT+CTRL+C, paste format=ALT+CTRL+V) undo= CTRL+Z, redo=CTRL+Y, save =CTRL+S. I am also having this problem, and it is driving me crazy. I can only use the options to copy and paste by right clicking in my mouse, and this is in all programs. Word, Firefox, Excel, basically anything.
I went into Word, and the shortcuts are still set to Ctrl +C and Ctrl + V.
I am running Vista 64 bit, and the worst is that when I try to use my Gmail and copy and paste into Google docs, the only way I can copy and paste is by using the menu up above in the bar at the top. This is seriously inhibiting my ability to use this computer for my work, as keyboard shortcuts are ESSENTIAL to working quickly.
If anyone has any idea how I can solve this issue, by resetting the shortcuts directly in my keyboard or anything, I NEED a way out of this problem.
Another clue - when I went into the settings in Word to try and reset the shortcut, when I tried to type in CTRL it would not read the entry. But CTRL B for bolding still works. This is making no sense at all and driving me crazy, so please help me!
