Hello, somehow I have managed to disable the shortcuts for cutting and pasting. I can only do it manually through the menu bar. I cannot Ctrl C or Ctrl V anymore - nothing happens! What have I done? Please help.

thanks

Nicole

Annoying problem if you rely 100% on keyboard shortcuts!  I had the same problem and the fix is very easy.  You will need to uninstall your keyboard driver and restart your computer and your CTRL keys will function once again.  To do this:

1)  Click Start

2)  Control Panel

3)  Printers and Other Hardware

4)  Keyboard

5)  In the Keyboard Properties window, click Hardware

6)  Click Properties

7)  Click Driver

8)  Click Uninstall, click OK

9)  Restart your Computer

Hello nicbar35,

Thank you for your reply back!

Is this only happening in Microsoft Word or does this also occur in other programs like 'Notepad"?  I went to Microsoft Word support and am showing commands listed below.  Again, if only happening within Word, I would suggest going to site listed.

Welcome to the world of genius idiots, who form teams of genius idiots, who reinforce & remind ea. other of what geniuses they are, who hold you in utter contempt for not acknowledging their genius("contempt", on the rare occasions where their disinterest slips). Remember, "The opposite of love is not hate, but indifference". You'd think they'd respond to years of complaints (all they have to do is google them[don't use "bing" except to type "google" into) & see the same problems'll be listed "2012, 2005, 2009, 2011, etc."in 10 different fora. Add to this the feigned mystification when people write in. They look at it like you handed an Amazon Indian an electric bread maker on the first contact with the outside world. Truth is, Bill couldn't care less about you, or any of us. Team Genius works to gain one another's admiration. It's like "Team Yahoo!" : They have a bet on which new un-feature can generate the most lividly-outraged hate mail. Did Yahoo! or MS ever -- EVER -- one time ask the users A) if they wanted a re-vamped system or B) what features they'd like. No, of course not(yes, they claim they do "surveys", etc. Psh). You just wake up one day & find your bedroom painted lavender, mauve, & chartreuse plaid -- the less you like it, the greater is the confirmation of the designer's greatness & your smallness for failing to recognize the beauty of it.
