How do I make windows start-up with the Number Lock on?

Windows will remember the setting you use at shutdown, usually. If you have trouble with that, there is a registry setting you can make to do it. If you are comfortable with that, for now you can go to :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard] (or [HKEY_USERS.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard] for all users) "InitialKeyboardIndicators"="2"

Later, you can come back to this thread when the "FitIt4me" team has the button developed to do that for you. They should be finishing up development work on that pretty soon.

    I have windows Vista and initialkeyboardindicators key is "2147483648" The laptop has no number pad and therefor no num loc Key. Bios has no option for Number lock.

    I bought an after market USB number pad. When you plug it in it acts as an arrow pad (when the num loc is off). Under Accessories/ease of access/onscreen keyboard you can turn on the num loc.

    I don't have an old user profile to download.

    It looks like the initialkeyboardindicators may refer to the previous explanation that it is User specific. I am a bit concerned to change any registery numbers becuase everything is refering to XP or windows 7.

    Installed Windows 8 on my PC but the numbers lock already works. Look at the thread above yours and maybe that will work.

    I can go into my bios as my PC is a home built and change number lock.
