My taskbar is missing when i use Internet Explorer

Am I crazy, or did my task bar disappear?  When I am looking at my desktop I have a task bar... and I could have sworn that for the last couple months (since installing Vista) I had a task bar visable when I was in Internet Explorer.  ("You don't know what you got til its gone."  :-P) Only problem is, NOW when I'm in Internet Explorer, I DON'T have a task bar.  I NOW have to navigate between programs by using the ALT+TAB.  I don't know of anything else that has changed on this computer. 

Any ideas on how to get the task bar up an running for while I'm in Internet

Explorer?

Hello,

It sounds like you may have accidentally enabled Internet Explorer's kiosk mode. Press the F11 key inside of internet explorer, and see if that fixes the problem.

    I am only submitting this to describe the experience I just had moving from IE8 to IE11 on a machine running Windows 7. Since this is still plaguing users as of December 2013, let this be the first entry for 2014.

    When I opened IE11 I had nothing except a tab that loaded my already defined home page.

    Start by pressing Alt key, just as described in previous entries.

    This at least gets you the Menu bar.

    Go Menu Bar > View > Toolbars - and then select Menu Bar - in other words make it have a checkmark.

    You can select the other choices as you wish: Favourites, Command and Status.

    My impression is that it's really important to also select Lock the Toolbars at the bottom, so that your toolbar choices 'follow you' as you journey in and around IE.

    I can't end this post without criticizing Microsoft in no uncertain terms for the kind of needless aggravation that users experience, time and time again, because of this kind of oversight stupidity. This is incompetence in its purest form. You demean people's intelligence when you screw up an upgrade in this way, and then leave it completely to the user's devices to Google search and find a solution. Your shame should know no limits.

    when I go into the properties of the taskbar I don't see that I see.  Lock  the taskbar    whitch is checked off  auto hide the taskbar whitch is off and   use small icons witch is off that's all PLEASE HELP
