Run the tool to uninstall the .Net completely, restart the machine.
Then Run the updates again, which will complete successfully....

I have downloaded the recent Microsoft updates and all but one installed successfully. The failing update was: Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 Security Update for Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2 (KB953297);
with an error code of 0x643.
We tried several times to install it and it keeps failing. It was originally the 3rd update in the list to install. After failing the first time, it was the only one we were trying to install. We tried it after the restart required for the other updates.

Installation might fails because interruption from Antivirus program. Make sure your antivirus program is turned off to ensure the installation process works normally. After the antivirus is turned off / disabled for a while, the installation process works as usual. I have prove it
I've turned off my antivirus and it still won't install. I still get error code ox643

i also have same problems always error installing updates then now ive always got blue screen appeared aerror wish someone could help me.this is the only way i could communicateto my family back home(Philippines)in Skype.pls kindly help. thank you very much
Well both >NET updates keep failing, so after reading and following the second link in this thread, I went ahead and not only downloaded the JUNE 2012 security ISO but also clicked on the 2 offending KB links on the page and followed it to the IT links and downlaoded the KB 2656368 and 2686827 and when I run them independently it says theres a condition BLOCKING these updates, but yet the auto update is NOT smart enough to know this and keep staying on the right bottom corner BUGGING the heck out of me and my wife on both our machines, not only thatbut it turns the ESET nod 32 icon orange
It used to be you could tell the update program to disregard certain updates, NOW I can no longer find that. Man I hate it, the whole world seems headed for the "pretty APPPLE" experience , where we are made dumber and dumber
can someone tell me how to tell the update program I do not need these updates.
I thank yo all, feel free to email me to my main address ******@yahoo.com
thank you all
